Richard Dixon

Founder Vets Now

Qualifying as a vet from Glasgow University, Richard worked in general practice before gaining his PhD and founding Vets Now in 2001. The business now provides dedicated emergency and critical care for about 120,000 pets every year and employs around 1200 permanent staff.

Richard is a board member of Entrepreneurial Scotland and founding trustee of Bedrock, a charity linking private business with services for babies and children during the early years period, and also a founding trustee of the Pars Foundation, providing football coaching and community services for children in Fife.

Outside work, Richard is married to Jan and has three young sons. He is a qualified private helicopter pilot and an aspiring Olympic archer.
